Pakistan Physiological Society is the
official, registered Society of
Physiologists of Pakistan. The Society was founded in 1986 in a
meeting of senior physiologists of Pakistan held at The Aga
Khan University Medical College, Karachi. The Society is regularly
holding Biennial International Conferences at various Medical
Schools of Pakistan and provides a platform to members to present
their original research work. The last Conference was held at
Shifa College of Medicine, Islamabad in association with South Asian
Physiological Societies on 10-12 November 2008.
The Society is affiliated to International Union
Of Physiological Scientists (IUOPS), The American Physiological
Society (APS), and South Asian Association of Physiologists (SAAP). Regular members of
the Society are more than 400 in Pakistan. Associate members and
Student members are more than 150 in Pakistan.
The Society publishes its Journal with the name of
Pakistan Journal
of Physiology (PJP). The Journal is recognised by the
Pakistan Medical and
Dental Council and is indexed by WHO EMR,
Index Copernicus, Index
Pakistan and
Pakmedinet.
