The awards was started in 1995 at the 5th Biennial International Conference of the PPS in the memory of Late Dr. M. Attique Younas. It consists of a Certificate and a Shield presented by the Department of Physiology, Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad.

The award is granted to the presenter of Best paper among the PPS Member undergraduate students of MBBS/BDS studying at any institution in Pakistan.
